Hello, I'm looking to create an intersection curve between an inclined plane and the inside face of a tube.
With the Sketch Tool - Intersection Curve, an intersection curve is created (1) but also a secondary curve (2) that comes out of the model. The problem is that the intersection curve must serve as a guide curve for a smoothed material removal and that the 2 curves are taken into account, which generates an error.
Does anyone know the reason?

I didn't understand everything, you mean that the two curves are created automatically when using the " Intersection Curve" sketching tool?

This is not normal behavior... (In addition, the guide curve must not be in the same sketch as that of the section profile).
But even so, when you use material removal it is possible to select only the curve you are interested in by activating the " Selection manager ":
Regarding your screenshot, I wonder if it wouldn't be more convenient for you to use the mechanically welded tools (even if it means creating a new tube profile) and then the adjust/extend tool.

In fact, I'm only trying to create the curve resulting from the intersection of plane and cylindrical surface. It will serve as a guide curve for me afterwards.
The problem is that 2 curves are created by the " intersection curve" function, which I don't understand.
Try it yourself to see for yourself, it's fast.
Well I'm doing the test (Solidworks 2022 sp5.)
=> Cylinder+inclined plane
=> New sketch on the new inclined plane
=>Intersection curve + cylinder face selection
Result: a single curve creates.
Note: Same according to internal or external side selection.
What version of Solidworks are you using?
It works well for you. I'm using the 2025 SP0.0.
I reproduced the same way of proceeding as you and I still get the intersection curve that comes out of the model...
=> You probably don't have to look any further... the index is there " SP0.0 "...
The sketch you get looks more like a silhouette entity than an intersection... Have you tried the other options in " Sketch Conversion"?
What does it look like with your 2025 sp0.0 if you use my part from my 2022 sp5?

Just to check a theory: if you change the inclination of the plane, does curve 2 widen with the plane becoming more and more horizontal, and does it round with the plane becoming more and more vertical?

Same answer as @Maclane, seems to be a bug of the 2025 corrected in SP2.
Edit: PS: avoid SP0 in a production environment
