Creating Configurations in Solidworks

Hello everyone,

I work with Swood integrated with Solidworks, so I create my furniture in an assembly by adding parts as I go.

So far so good.

On the other hand, when I want to create configurations, I am forced to open each part independently, create my configurations in each part, and then create those same configurations in my assembly to be able to assign them. I find it very tedious to create these configurations, isn't there a faster and easier way to create these configurations?

Thanks in advance

Hello

Can you share your assembly and/or put a screen print of the parts you want to mirror. I'm under 2016.

Thank you both for your answers.

AC Cobra 427, I didn't understand your answer, I don't want to symmetrical but configure an assembly.

gt22, so I looked into driveworks, but I have some problems with Swood all my base dimensions are linked and have the same name, so in driveworks I find myself with all my parts that have the dimension name "LENGTH" and that I can't change in driveworks because they are linked (at least that's what I think).

Is there a way to rename these sides to differentiate them?

See this link to rename part numbers and parts families

Dsl I got my brushes mixed up..   If you edit your part in the assembly, you can create the configuration there right away without opening the part.

Thank you gt22 I'll take a look at it.

AC Cobra 427, can you give me the procedure or a link for the procedure?

Hello
Yes, to use a configuration in an assembly, it is first false to create it in the part. But this needs to be done in Excel like the video above.
And the same goes for the assemblies (all in excel).

Excel allows you to make dozens of versions in a few minutes

A few screenshots would allow you to refine the answer

Kind regards
