Creating an Electrical Connector for Routing

Hi all

I'm looking to create an electrical connector with a specific number of pins and possibly a specific numbering as well.

For the creation of the connector, no problem, for the creation of the connection point no problem either.

But where I dry is in the definition of the pins, I don't know where to define it.

If I use a connector from the SW base, no problem when defining the wires, I can choose the pin number but for my connector I don't know where to define the number and number of the pins.

If there is a specialist, thank you in advance.

Hello

In the patch point definition, there is a port ID value.

I think it may correspond to the pin number of the connector.

Kind regards

Good evening

no unfortunately, this port ID names only one port, I have 12 pins on my connector.

Unless there is a way to name several pins in this ID, that's what I thought at first.

I've tried several  ways but nothing has worked so far.

Hello

The standard solution is, I think, to make one connection point per connector pin.

Hello

Precisely according to the help not to overload is to make a connection point (corresponding to the cable) and a definition of the number of pins and the busying numbers.

But that's where the help ends, they don't say how to do it, or I haven't found it .

Hello

In fact, I made a multi-wire cable with a single connection point. (see example file).

It is possible to make a plan of the whole as well.

Hello

Are you thinking of something like that??

Hello dtidsl,

Yes, that's exactly what I'm trying to create.

Could you explain to me how to do it please.
