Creating Icons

Hello

I want to create an icon to have a direct link to a component library file to avoid searching by folder.

Thank you in advance.

Hello

We use Windows shortcuts:

Put this shortcut in the "root" folder ( = the one in "tools > options > location of library files", which is displayed first) of the library, so it will always be just a click away from the Library tab of the task pane on the right in SolidWorks!

Hello

on the right when you open Solidworks, you have the "Design Libraries" tab

Click on it, and click on the little icon "add file location"

Search for the folder you want, and let's go!

Otherwise, for a button directly, you have to go through a macro, see my tutorial for an introduction to VBA programming:

Have you thought about the "design library" tab from SolidWorks?

Another idea: Localhelp utility (if you have the mycadtools)?

I don't know localhelp!

Paying for mycadtools?

Yes, MyCADTools is a suite of add-ins and utilities for SolidWorks that is paid.

Utilities are also available individually on Lynkoa:

We know the library on the right but we would like an icon on the taskbars that opens a specific folder so that, then, we can select the desired part.

We tried the macros but it inserts a part of the folder, we can't select the desired part.
