Creation of assembly part families

Hello, I would like to know how the families of assembly parts work because I would like to create assemblies automatically. I currently have several families of parts (with several configurations) and I would like to automatically create assemblies with the different configurations of my parts. Because I have to do the same type of assembly several times but with different configurations of the parts of the assembly. Do you know how I could do it? Because the assemblies are almost all the same, just the configurations change and a few sides in the constraints.

Thank you for your help

Hello

Already know how part families work for parts? It's exactly the same for the assemblies!

The easiest way is to create two configurations in your assembly, make your changes, and then create your part family automatically, so you can see the result in Excel.

If you don't know the families of parts, there are tutorials in French on YouTube:

Finally, DriveWorks Xpress is a free add-on that does exactly what you want:

To summarize, by creating an assembly model, I have the possibility to say which configuration of which part I am using and I can also change values for angle and distance constraints? Because basically that's more or less what I need to do

Exactly, this is true for both DriveWorks and part families, with a small clarification for families (I don't know enough about DriveWorks):

You can change the angle or distance values if these dimensions or constraints are at the level of the assembly!

Otherwise, you will have to create a configuration of the room for each angle or distance desired.

I don't know if I was clear...

Do you have an example of a table for a family of assembly parts with different configurations? I'd like to see what it looks like but I haven't found any...

As I told you, it's really very simple:

- Create an assembly

- Create a second configuration with a difference (one remote, one configuration of one room: anything)

- Create a part family automatically

- Admire the result!
