Create a room from photos

Hi there.

I have a new challenge, "to create parts of a machine, starting from simple photographs... "

I tried the following way, (see screenshot) but I'm not sure I'm using the right method, .. if?

A better solution perhaps?

Thank you already for your help on this file.

Hello

Yes it's a (or even the) good method, you have to work in sheet metal to be able to unfold more easily, and add the inserts I think later :o

After that, you still have to pay attention to the scale of the photos, and if you could have the part in your hands to take 2-3 ribs it would be even better!

Hi Azrod. I have the scale of the photos because as you can see I have a 200mm ruler that appears in each photo.

You talk about sheet metal, but how do I do it, for this example, to model a sheet metal roll?

 Never done...

With the Folded Base Sheet function, the first sketch will match your first image.

Only then can you unfold your sheet metal correctly.

Hello

Does it look like the "Blueprint" methods?

yes it's not wrong, but it seems to me that the photos are not like 2D views.

I learned a lot with your thomasc tutorial , thank you.

But you're welcome;)

You can also use this kind of software to measure on a photo, if you have 2 dimensions.

I think I'm going to take these pieces and lay them flat on a paper, to make the exact contours. Then I'm going to apply the blueprint method, well if I can do it

Hello

Why not place the part on graph paper or squared paper according to the size and the ends on the same line, then trace the outline and finally make a survey on the paper. Once the part is made in 3D for inspection, make an ECH 1:1 print from above to put the original on it.

Yes I hit graph paper it's not bad too.

I'll see how to do it because some parts are really huge...

Hello everyone,

I asked for something like this not long ago, I advise you to see.
