Creates a text with a link

Hello

I would like to know how to make a text with a link on a variable (Parameter), a can like catia does automatically the gold of creating a new view (scale) or section (name of the section)

What I want to do:

I have a 3D model with a parameter: nombre_de_trou, and I get this arameter in my drawing.

I create a new parameter texte_nb_trou: it's a text that changes according to the number of holes (6x / 3x ..)

I would like to meter this text devils the dimension of the diameter of the holes for which changes according to the modfis of the 3D

thank you in advance

Hello

When creating an annotation in your drawing, you write $PRPSHEET:"Name of the desired 3D model property"

In your case, if in your part properties the one you want is: number of holes then you will have to write: $PRPSHEET: "number of holes"

You will have the result directly displayed. If you need to re-edit the formula, you right-click on the text and click edit window.

See example attached

Good evening, you have to link the text to an attribute.

Create a text box and then point to it with the right click mouse "link to an attribute"

 Hello Eyefighter

If your holes are from the holes you created with the piercing wizard, use "Symbol for piercing" (Annotation tab) it automatically counts the number of occurrences.

otherwise I don't think there is a way to link a property to a rating.

The solution would be to go through a "note"  annotation and to bind the "number of holes" property to your body. If your part is sheet metal, Solidworks calculates this value in the list of welded parts.

See attached screenshot

mickael.alves: I can't find an annotation for created, if you're talking about a test area, $PRPSHEET: "texte_NB_Trou": don't work

Franck.ceroux: I don't have the obtion to link to an attribute (if not, I would have found it myself)

Damoon: the part is not a joke (and I'm not on solidworks), it has a number of persages (made fat has a repetition) that varies according to a parameter.

I finish my interim next week and will not be able to modify the 3D and plan after, but I don't know the distance / number and diameter of the part that will be fixed on mine, for sela I want to wronged my boss a 3D and an evolutionary drawing (6xØ10 => the 6 varriré following the number of troup parameterized in the 3D). (I am the only one to have metrized Catia.)

thank you anyway for your help (I'll look for the annotations)

Hello

It's not an option but it's hard to catch.

 I have attached a video.

Manip: create the text box with "any" text, double click to activate it, then as long as the input window is open, point to a line in the text box frame, the mouse pointer must change (hand), without moving the pointer, left-click, then right-click.

It may have nothing to do with it but do you have the hybrid mode enabled? There are some things that don't work in this mode.

Hello

Here is a tutorial on how to link a text to a parameter.
This is indeed the "link an attribute" function but to get it, you have to be careful to  right-click in the view on the selected text (in the outline) and not in the text edit box.

Also be careful that the text in the map will only update when the view is updated.
If you change your setting in the Catpart (or Catproduct) and it doesn't impact the 3D update, then the text won't update.

You then have to be clever to cause the plan views to be updated .
