Hello
I am looking to make a part with a curvature from a 2d profile in order to cut the part on a polystyrene cnc
I found a video to explain what I'm trying to achieve
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSxhsROkT0A
My question is there a way to calculate the cuts I need to make in the cut according to the profile ?

Thank you

Hello
The only way I know is to divide and then after doing this divide the total angle by the number of sections.

Calculate the inter and outer lengths for each identical radius
subtract the inter length of the outer loger
you will find the length to cut
This said length will be divided x times for your triangle cuts
knowing that the point of each triangle will be at the axis of each part of the cut line
the more cutting you have, the better the result will be

Hello
Do you have a little diagram, so that I can see what you want to do?

Hello
See if in principle this is what you would like. If it suits you, all you have to do is modify my piece according to your needs. I made it in SolidWorks 2016
