I am facing a problem because I would like to create a sheet metal cylinder but with a helical shaped cut of this cylinder. I don't see how to go about doing this in sheet metal at all.
Hello based on the same trick, unfolding a cylinder wound into a helix = parallelogram. Create the tube with sheet metal + unfolding + parallelogram cutting + re bending function. Sheet metal functions only. helical sheet. SLDPRT (122.0 KB)
It is even possible to extend the propeller by several turns. This allows of course to do the flattening for the cutting on the MEP. Be careful not to overlap faces.
