I am modeling a tank on solidworks with a helical ladder (pictured). I want to make a 2D plan that shows the scale development mounted on the tank. Supposedly with the coordinates (x,y) on the ferrules in 2D. Is it possible on solidworks?
Hello
To have a 2D plan you have to use the drawing. On the other hand, if you really want to have the flat press, in my opinion, you have to do your 3D on a single plane, which shouldn't be too difficult because your staircase must be composed of several segments in a straight line (well, I hope so, it's going to be complicated).
It depends on how your 3D plan is made.
If I understood your question correctly
Kind regards
Try by making a cross-sectional view following a circular line, it can work.

Thank you STEFBENO
I didn't know that you could make a cut as you indicate.
There are really good people on this forum ;-)

How can I make a section view following a circular line??
