Unfold a smoothing

Hello, I would like to create a sheet metal piece with a square starting base and an oval arrival. The problem is that the base and the arrival are not on the same plane (20° difference).

I would like to be able to unfold this piece with the fold lines.

I tried the classic smoothing and the transition crease function. But it doesn't work.

Does anyone have an idea?

Hello

Why not try to convert to sheet metal afterwards? It is possible that it will work and the unfolding will be automatic:

Which version of SolidWorks are you using? I think it's a possibility given only for 1 or 2 versions!

Thank you I'll try

SW version 2012

Here is an example of a part (to be adapted)

Hi @ agreau

Show your piece

there is no problem on SW 2012

you do everything in volume, you cut your neutral fiber and you transform everything into sheet metal

or see this tutorial

the condition not to be bothered

is to transform your circle into a polygon facet

you will have your folding  lines they need as many lines at the 2 ends

Hello

The two sketches, used for the transition folds, must have the same number of elements. Your square must have rays in the corners and have a cut-out (9 entities). The same goes for your oval shape, it must also have 9 entities. Or you create your shape with closed contours, cut with a material removal and then convert it into sheet metal.

In short, you have several solutions, you will find one that can meet your needs. Moreover, the previous comments are rich in teaching!

PS: How many centers does the oval have, please?

Ah, sorry!

You use solidworks, I hadn't seen.

So I can't help you.
