Hello, I recently switched to Solidworks 2015 SP4.0, and I have a problem with the descriptions of the parts that are inserted in the library. Indeed when I hover over a library part, a tooltip appears with the thumbnail of the model as well as the description if it has been entered, but since I have SW 2015 no more description that is displayed as soon as I save! I don't know if I was clear so here is an image with a file from 2012
And here is the same file after recording
Do you have an idea?
Thank you in advance for your help

You must fill in the description
Right-click on the component and property
See attached image

Hello and thank you for your answers!
The description is already there since it's the same file that I save in 2015 version, on the other hand I don't have this tab on the new part when I right click!

What do you have by right-clicking and ownership?
A little screenshot?

Hello
There is a bug listed at SoliudWorks, which looks a lot like this and has not been resolved:
Attached toolbox components do not show description property in tooltip in SOLIDWORKS Task pane.
https://customerportal.solidworks.com/eservice_enu/start.swe?SWECmd=InvokeMethod&SWEMethod=GotoRecord&SWEService=SWGotoRecord&ViewName=SW+All+Defects+List+customerportal+-+Search&BusObject=Product+Defect&BusComp=Product+Defect&Id=1-4F82TQA&SRN=
So I would advise to upgrade to SolidWorks 2015 SP5! And if that doesn't solve the problem, I'm afraid there is no solution!

Have you tried resetting the SolidWorks settings? You can find out if it comes from the configuration of the workstation, see my tutorial:

No I haven't tried, however it's a new installation on a new PC so no trace of the old solidworks...

Was there no copy of the SolidWorks settings? Was everything done by hand?

Before making the copy of my settings I added the library by hand and I checked if it worked, and the results were the same

FYI, we can go back if it doesn't solve the problem, but at least we are sure that it doesn't come from the configuration of the workstation.
and you have nothing to lose because there is no other solution (except maybe to switch to the 2016 version...)

Changing the language of SolidWorks to English, is it the same problem?

The issue is known to SolidWorks and resolved in the 2016 SP1 release...
The news:
Ability to show description added to library feature when hover cursor over feature in library task pane.
https://customerportal.solidworks.com/eservice_enu/start.swe?SWECmd=InvokeMethod&SWEMethod=GotoRecord&SWEService=SWGotoRecord&ViewName=SW+All+Defects+List+customerportal+-+Search&BusObject=Product+Defect&BusComp=Product+Defect&Id=1-34CAVJM&SRN=
No solution except to switch to the 2016 version...
