Unlocked cells in a room family

Hi all

The operation I want to perform seems quite simple to me but I'm stuck... I'd like to change the name of a call number for the sake of understanding: Angle_corps instead of D11. But I get the following message:

So I tried to unlock my cells: Home>Police>Protection>Uncheck locked but nothing helps. I even tried to remove the password protection but it doesn't lead to anything. I went to Review>Edits>Allow Changing Ranges but there's nothing in the window. And if I go to Review>Changes>Protect Sheet>Uncheck "Protect Sheet and Contents from Locked Cells" it doesn't work.

I can write to the excel file but I can't edit in SW. And in SW, I checked "Allow the update of the family of parts by model changes"

Thank you for your help.

Hello

you can remove the references of the dimensions in the part family, save it like that, and rename your dimensions in the 3D, then open your 3D and the sketch where the dimensions are located,  edit your part family, select the cell that should receive the dimension reference and do the same for the others.

Hello

Have you changed the name of your 3D rating first???

Hello

Once a dimension is used in a part family, it is locked to write in SW.

To be able to modify a dimension that is in pink (Driven by a part family), you must either delete it in the part family, edit it in the part family, or create a variable that will be driven by the part family and add an equation in the value of the dimension.

Sorry a.leblanc but I don't think I understood what you wanted to explain and I think that's not what I want to do.

AC Cobra 427 is precisely what I wanted to do but it was blocked by the family.

Yves.T indeed it's the simplest, certainly the most brutal way, to delete the column, change the name of the call number and put the column back thank you!

Actually, what I meant was to delete the dimensions in the part family before editing them in the 3D, and then import them back in.

The main thing is that you managed to get what you wanted to do. ; )

Just to complete Yves.T's answer, you can cut all the cells with your ribs and paste it next to it then delete the column and put the link of the rib back on the cell next to it with the copy of your ribs in the column...
