Dimensions of a part in the Formula Editor with properties

Hello

I would like to know how to give the dimensions (long x wide x thick) values of a part in the formula editor

with custom properties. I found how to make the formulas but impossible to link them with (length x width x thickness or diameter)

in the properties. I know that they have to be linked with the reference dimensions in the part template but when I introduce my name nothing appears only the formula you see below.

Hoping someone can help me please it would be very nice!

Here are my formulas

"RD1@Annotations"

"RD2@Annotations"

"RD3@Annotations"

"RD4@Annotations"

"D1@Boss.-Extru.1"

"Epaisseur@Tôlerie 1"

OD:

"D1@Esquisse1"

$PRP:"WIDTH"

Hello and welcome to Lynkoa

What software do you work on?

In your listing, I don't see any formulas but only the names of the odds (if my memory serves me correctly).

Maybe you should try with: RD1@Annotations=D1@Boss.-Extru.1, etc...

Hi @ Patmorency

I think it's under SolidWorks

so we have to make product libraries (basic sketches)

and create  parts families via Excel and the dimensions will be supported

See this tutorial Family of parts

Hello

If you want to do this in SolidWorks, you should use the equations. Tools\equations.

You can then create global variables (length, width, etc.) and use them in your equations.

Then your part properties can point to these global variables.

Hello

Here is an example of a plan with a table that displays the dimensions of the room.

In addition, the dimensions can be controlled from the equation editor

Kind regards

Hello and welcome to the forum!

To use custom properties in formulas, information is available in the SolidWorks Help:

http://help.solidworks.com/2013/french/SolidWorks/sldworks/t_Custom_Props_in_Equationsoh.htm

You have to go through the equation editor.

"From Global Variables and File Properties, click Custom Property"

And the general help concerning the equations:

Hello

I'm sorry for the delay, thank you very much for your answers, I believe that with this information will really help me. It is just up to me to dig a little deeper to find my resolution from what you have written for me.

To answer tomalam, gt22 and coyote! YES it's on SolidWorks (LE MEILLEURLEUR).

Once again, thank you, a cartoonist from Quebec
