Disappearance of Photoview

Hello dear forum!
One question is bothering me, following the presentation of SolidWorks 2024 in Lille last week, I learned of the disappearance of Photoview in favor of Visualize. I really like Visualize but not having the PRO version I continued to make my video renders via Photoview. But with the demise of the latter, the SolidWorks Pro versions will be upgraded with access to Visualize PRO? Or are you done with pretty 3D videos? Or we go on strike...

In my opinion finished, like the free Drafsight license, one day in the future the fixed licenses also in favor of the 3Dexperience and Vaseline is or will not even be offered!
With Dassault I've never seen a gift... :cold_face:

At the time Photoview was apart with Photoworks integrated maybe we will witness the same phenomenon...

In this case, Visualize would have already been integrated with the pro license.
For me the answer is unfortunately a foregone conclusion, you will have to take out the checkbook, or do without this feature...

If the animation part is important to you, you'll have to keep a 2023 version next to the 2024...
Knowing that you can now record under an N-2 version :wink:
I don't see any other free solutions for the moment...

Hello;

I came across this link at 3Dswsym... (the Solidworks forum...):
https://r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/#community:yUw32GbYTEqKdgY7-jbZPg/iquestion:7Beof9BjQKSgVzFI2NK91Q

I don't really know what to think about it... it seems that there is a plug-in called STAGE (based on the Unreal Engine 5) to render from future versions of Solidworks (2024 and +)...

The Solidworks 2024 Help still contains a chapter dedicated to Visualize...
https://help.solidworks.com/2024/French/SolidWorks/install_guide/c_visualize_install.htm
It is possible to hope that it does not disappear just yet...

Kind regards.

Which plug-in are you talking about?

Before installing a plug-in, please enable the " Hello " add-on.

Hello (@Sylk is right, the " Hello " is important);

The STAGE plug-in is a real-time rendering tool developed by Trapdoor Creative, built on Unreal Engine 5, that allows direct integration with Solidworks for 3D visualization and rendering.

If you dig a little deeper, you realize that the company Trapdoor Creative is behind Visualize for Solidworks.

In summary, Visualize is a Dassault Systèmes solution, while STAGE is the product of Trapdoor Creative.

Otherwise, to be able to make photorealistic renderings from 3D files (but my native Solidworks) there are:

Blender https://www.blender.org
RenderMan https://renderman.pixar.com
Yafaray and LuxCoreRender https://luxcorerender.org
Kerkythea http://www.kerkythea.net

More common 3D formats for these tools: STEP, OBJ or STL

=> And, seriously, @DAO_BRETAGNE , did this request really require the use of Private Message (PM)??? :frowning_face:

You can add 3dsMax, which can natively import sldprt/sldasm files, to take advantage of all the rendering engines compatible with this software (and there are a lot of them!).
With the advantage of keeping the colors and materials of the models (without the textures). But the disadvantage of only loading the default configurations of the parts into an asm. For example I have doors with handle on the left in config1 and on the right in config2, it only loads the asm of my house with the doors on the left (I'm looking for a walkthrough).

Hi Dear Double L

Just for your info photoview is actually the MODO software brandished
https://support.foundry.com/hc/en-us/categories/115000527084-Modo
But froundry seems to have abandoned MODO in favor of other software, especially MARI https://www.foundry.com/products/mari

Obviously these are " trescherware "! I used a good mod time but SW took over my free time. SNIFfff

Kind regards
