Sketch Division

Hello.

Is it possible to divide a sketch into several equal parts?

For those who are familiar with autocad there is a very handy feature that, the SPLIT function that works wonderfully.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

You can split your sketch and then select everything and match

Hello

I'm not familiar with AutoCAD, but what you're describing could be the Segment tool available in Tools/Sketching Tools/Segment.

You can place X equidistant points on a sketch entity (line or circle,...), or divide that entity into X equal segments.

Be careful, if you choose the points, they will not be constrained, unlike the entity segments.

Hello

Give us a concrete example of what you want to do. With a screenshot for example.

Because personally I'm not an Autocadian at all ;-)

What version do you have of solid? because with Solid 2014 I don't have the segment tool you're talking about

2015 is indeed a novelty I think!

yes it's a novelty because I don't have it under solid 2014 SP5.0

Hello

I think that the dynamic symmetry function available at least since the 2013 version is the right function:

To activate it:

Click Dynamic EntityTool_Dynamic_Mirror_Entities_Sketch.gif  Symmetry (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketching Tools > Dynamic Symmetry .

Press F5 or click on the image to see the video

Or watch this video:

Good morning and thank you all.

I'm on a 2014 version with no segment function.

On the other hand, with split and equal, it works perfectly.

In my case I want to position the axes of the railing of a railing.

it works perfectly, thank you!!

I didn't really understand the point of symmetry in this specific case@.PL ... on the other hand I overlove your little gif to explain

Indeed, rereading the question I am off topic!

Can't wait for the weekend!

HS of @.PL, but it made me discover a SolidWorks function! :)

And given the weather, we have to admit that we think more about the terrace at the beginning of the weekend than about Solidworks;)

Otherwise, to answer the initial question, we can also make a segment, dimension it and then a linear repetition of a sketch:)
