I received a plan in dwg format from a collaborator (plan drawn with Autocad).
I can edit the plan but I can't activate the layer manager (message: "error"), nor save it (or 'save as')
I then ran the "Error checking" command, 667 errors were fixed, and this allowed me to unlock the Layer Manager
But then still unable to save the plan (nor "save as"), The error message received is: "An error occurred during recording".
Previously, my colalborator had already sent me this plan (same format, generated by the same Autocad, but before making its corrections) and I had no problem modifying and saving the plan.
Your answer is relevant, but to send you this plan, I would have to anonymize it (by removing the title block from the plan with the address of the building), but this is not possible since if I make a change to the file, I can't save it!
The 2018 versions of Autodesk software have just been released, wouldn't there be an incompatible format problem between DraftSight 2017 and AutoCad 2018 (at least if the person who sent you the document is indeed Autocad 2018).
I know that in general DWG and DXF files pass quite well but sometimes it happens that some functions block either opening or saving.
Ask him to send you the same document in Autocad 2010 or 2013.
