Free or Professional Draftsight?

Hi all.

I am asked, like others certainly, to buy the professional and paid version of Draftsight.

The price  is not very high (compared to Autocad for example) and I am currently using a lot of the free version of this  program that I am starting to master, and I wonder if there is a real interest in getting the pro version.

What  are the real improvements ? Are there important new learnings to be acquired ?

If someone handles both versions, could he enlighten me.

Thanks in advance

Bernard

Hello

To get an idea, a 30-day trial offer is available here:

As well as resources in English:

- a demonstration video:

- a brief comparison:

- a detailed comparison:

My personal opinion:

I don't have the PRO version but for me, the main advantages are the Toolbox for DraftSight and the Design Library (which seems to be some kind of equivalent to the AutoCAD Design Center ), macro recording, and LISP programming.

Let's see if these supplements will really be beneficial for your use, but it's true that it looks interesting.

List of improvements in French:

Enhancements include access to APIs and updates, as well as the following features: Toolbox for DraftSight, Design Library, PDF Layer, Mass Property Calculation, Batch Printing, and much more.

The license costs €355 for the first year, then €99 every year.

As for me, 2D gives me buttons, so I prefer to stay on the free version rather than pay knowing that the support is all in English + (double dose of !!! buttons)

The paid version gives you access to technical support and maintenance. Update etc....

+ the functions that Lucas has filled in. =)

If you're not limited at all with your free version, stay free!

Here!

The updates to the free version are also ... Free!

As for the support, I think that even I, having a rather good level in English, would have a hard time conversing by phone on a particular problem (and yes we don't always have all the vocabulary)! So I didn't specify it!

Hello everyone,

I have not been able to read the answers directly. They confirm my impression that the paid version is not going to change my life much. Macros I'm not there and explanations in English are not really my cup of tea.

Thank you to each one
