Draftsight won't activate or start

Hello

I downloaded the latest version of Draftsight 2018 SP 1, which I installed on my new DELL 13 5000 computer running Windows 10

However, it never offers me to activate the product (whereas for the previous versions I had a dialog box allowing me to enter my email and activate the product), and when I try to open the software it closes almost instantly, so I can't use it.

I uninstalled - reinstalled the software several times, restarted my PC, nothing helps.

Have you ever had this problem? Do you know how to fix it?

Thank you

Anthony

Hello

I found a trick that works 99%

install_draftsight.pdf

A solution that we implemented at the beginning of the week for two new positions with us:

After installation:

=> Delete the SWActivation\K2 registry key in the Registry Editor (Regedit)

[Open the registry editor, go to the Folder HKEY_USERS press CTRL + F and in the field search for "SWActivation"

=> Add "https://www.3ds.com" in trusted sites

[Internet Option> Security > Trusted Sites]

=> Launch DraftSight normally the activation window should launch, fill in the fields.

=> Wait to receive the email... Once received, do not click on the link in the email...

=> Relaunch Draftsight, a new dialog box should appear, explaining that an email has been sent and asking if you should resend one => Click NO

=> Open the received email and activate DraftSight

=> Relaunch DraftSight

=> Enjoy!

EDIT: I hadn't paid attention to the date of the message. I think he must have found his answer by now.

Hello

I've been using Draftsight for several years. And today I receive the classic message asking me to reactivate the product. I come across the usual window, fill in everything, but systematically I receive the following message: "We have not been able to contact the server. The app will close. Please restart Draftsight and try again later."

Does anyone know how to get out of this?

Thanks in advance

well that's why I stayed with DWGedtitor who was with SW until the 2009 version.

I couldn't get used to it at draftsight.

As for the installation, it is possible that there is a regist key that prevents the proper installation.

For our new pcs we have a key installed that "gave" the permissions to write on the C:

If I think about it tomorrow I will attach it.

Here is the registry key that can help install software by giving access to C:

We used it for Solidworks and Alphacam.
