Solidworks Creation Screensaver

Hello

In the context of the wacky client I was asked if I could make a screensaver with the 3D view of the assembly I created (a compatible iThing), rotating on itself....

Is it possible?

Do I need a specific additional software (already to do the animation)?

Hello

Is it to make a screensaver or a live wallpaper?

Because on the internet we can find tutorials to create live wallpapers but not much about savers...

Thomas

I found a tutorial to put a video as a wallpaper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iof9ZQWaGQI

Now you have to make a video of your set in rotation;)

@Tomalan

Thank you it's not a bad idea and I'll keep it in mind;)

In my opinion you're right, I already have to make a video before anything else.

But I was asked for a screensaver!!

Here is what I found:

http://www.logitheque.com/logiciels/windows/ecran_de_veille/creer_ecrans_de_veille/

http://www.toocharger.com/windows/personnalisation-de-l-ordinateur/ecran-de-veille/creer-des-ecrans-veille/

Which brings up a question within the question, how do you create a video of the part or assembly?

Here's what I found to make a video of your screen:

http://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Multimedia/edition_video/fiches/43185.html

http://www.pc-file.net/fraps?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PC_FR_TopTail_Juegos&utm_content=Fraps&utm_term=fraps

Then to make the video you launch the software and you run your set for the desired time and you have your video.

I know it's a bit artisanal but I don't see any other solution. Unless you can make your set run "automatically", and then I don't know how to do it.

The hack I started to do is with edrawing in playback mode that goes from one position to another, iso, face, top, etc... record as video on Mac.

But it's not very fluid

In Solidworks you can generate videos in AVI format from the "Motion Study" tab at the bottom of the graphics space, there is also a wizard that automatically creates the chronogram keys for rotation around an axis.

Hi all

Indeed, pn can record an animation in .avi video format with SolidWorks.

For example, you can create a video after breaking up an assembly to make disassembly instructions.

See: http://help.solidworks.com/2013/French/solidworks/motionstudies/t_saving_animations_motion.htm

See you.

Hi @ SEPM

you make your video on solid in animation

I found this link for the wallpaper to see

Hi @gt22

I didn't know you could do that with VLC

@tomalan in this answer gives the youtub link of dreamscene

http://www.dreamscene.org/

It's still a wallpaper behind desktop icons.

I'm already going to turn to video  like @rmorel and @fthomas talks.

I had already made a viewer principle under powerpoint that linked between photos and videos (automatic slideshow with timing) for presentations of light shows.

It's the screensaver that puts me a little bit in it:D

example a small video and all on SW

except the sound of course

To finalize I would say that my bike is not powerful enough to make a beautiful video

I do as Tomalan did to propose as a first answer which is a priori the least complex
