I'm on SW2017, is there a possibility to increase the number of characters of the reference elements? For the moment, it's stuck at 2.... and I would need 3 characters!!!

No better in 2018, limited to 2 characters too and nothing seen that allows you to change this parameter.

Are you talking about References in geometric tolerances?
If so, maybe you can add the "Pipe" character: | to pretend there's an extra box... Just put the reference A | B in the first square to gain a character.
With SW 2019 you can put 3 characters.

In fact I think (after reflection...) that the goal is to put several letters in the geometric reference element... So in 2019 we are limited to 2 too... I think it should be possible to find a special character, in a particular font, that allows you to display two characters, such as the CD in Roman numerals ( ↀ ). But I have not found what character and font would allow it. Hoping that the trick can help, have a good day!
