I have a stamping to make on a bent sheet metal. A priori no problem.
This stamping is cut on the sheet metal in the bending area.
On the image you will see, on the left, the stamping made but I can't bend the part properly otherwise the stamping will only remain on one part. On the right of the image, I tried to do the stamping in 3 times on each part of sheet metal but once the central part is done, SW puts the 2nd stamping in error (surface/radius conflict)
Do you have a solution to succeed in getting through this stamp?
Already since your stamping is very close to the SW edge must not like it at all (neither do the workshop people). On top of that, the crinkling is not going to be easy to do and I doubt that SW will know how to do it in this specific context
How will the folders in the workshop do it and with which tools and which machine.
In general, and depending on the height of the passage , the stamping is done before or after bending and if there is a perfect joint, it means that it is necessary to do a rework (nibbling or sawing) before bending to eliminate the defects due to the reflux of the material on the one hand and especially to have a straight stamping so close to the edge.
For me this means rework after stamping to bring the edge flush with the stamping and so-called notching rework.
Afterwards, if it's only the drawing that concerns you, make swept base bosses by adding material to the end of the flat part after folding.
I can feel @ac cobra (among other colleagues) coming up with a great solution.
Agree with what has been said. I would add that in order to successfully fold the bending radius must remain inside the notching after folding. Otherwise it doesn't work. So either you notch wide enough to include the default bend radius or you force the smaller bend radius. This solution allows for a single stamping before bending + notching.
