Hello, I have a standardizing part that allows me to remove material, but I need to put this shape in SolidWorks in order to remove material from a stock without having to redraw the shape each time. Could you help me? Thank you
Hello
if the sketch already exists, simply copy/paste it by selecting it and doing Edit>copy then edit>paste into a new part.
I found a function call fingerprint that does what I want, but when I validate it tells me " the operation failed because of the geometry ". I can't seem to solve this problem.
Hello
if I understand your need correctly, I can refer you to this YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gB_XNWuN8)
The objective is to draw once with parameters to drive the different variable if necessary.
and then save your work as a " library function."
I hope that answered your question well!
The video is no longer available
yes I'll look at that
The video is interesting but it's the fingerprint feature that I'm really interested in for what I want to do. But I still have this geometry problem that prevents me from validating the function. Could it be due to the fact that I have several layers that cross each other?
Hello
Do you realize the imprint function at the assembly level or in each of the parts where it is necessary to remove this shape?
Another suggestion:
Rather than using the Impression function, use the Insert Part... Then use the combine function in subtraction mode.
In terms of assembly, I have done several tests and it's because of the sides that cross, but I will test your suggestions on occasion.
