I just installed my sw2017 version, and as soon as I save a part file in step, it opens the step automatically and creates a 2nd part file ready to be saved.
How can I avoid this?

In the options in the Save As dialog box, do not select Save Copy and Open for Exports.
Always use save as.

Yes, I thought it could be that, but even with Save As, the step saves and opens automatically...

Joker, I don't see any options other than this that would explain the behavior. Make a ticket with your reseller, it will surely be more efficient.
