I've been having a big problem since yesterday on Solidworks that I've never had before.
I work on a sheet metal part with integrated inserts thanks to the "insert > parts" function. To explain everything, I want to change one insert to replace it with another, I remove it, and I put the new one. I click on the floppy disk to save, I close my piece and there the following message: "Save modified documents: One or more documents closed as a result of this operation have been modified, with 2 choices: 1) Save all or 2) Do not save"
If I click on "save all" my file does not close, if I click on "Do not save" the file closes, but the change is not taken into account...
It's quite surprising to have a request for registration when I've already recorded before closing my room. I also noticed that when I open my room, it also opens an insert integrated into this room.
This handicaps me a lot because all the changes made are lost, I can't move forward in my work><
When you click on "save all", it's not a question of registration time?
Another option that happened to me: a window opens outside the screen and asks for validation. Solution: if 2 screens connect only one, otherwise change the display
For more information, it must still be related to external references.
I try to edit the part in the parent assembly, and I get the following message: "this part has functions defined in the context of another assembly (...) You can edit the part, but you can't create external references to the components in the current assembly."
I don't see a problem with the registration deadline. I tried to project on a single screen and I don't have another window open, I still have the same problem...
I think I'm going to do this play again, it will take me less time than torturing my mind, hoping it works >< the problem is that the same thing happens with my colleague too...
I can't provide a take-away comp, as it's a professional assembly for my business... I did it on my computer locally I observe the same problem, and my colleague also on other assemblies... We're going to go crazy!
We don't have an archiving vault except for a system of evolution index according to our progress.
Thank you for your answers in any case, even if the problem is still there for the moment.
Are you sure you don't have a link between your 2 PCs? Are you working on the same project? Do the old and new insert have the same name, same configuration?
I tried to:
Create a welded construction part, slide a screw into this part => create a derivative part.
What version of Solidworks are you on???? because with the 2012 I had several problems with the import of parts! Fortunately, a good part of it is solved in 2015 SP5.0.
We don't have a link between our 2 PCs because we work locally and on two different assemblies.
I made a takeaway composition from the waiter to my premises, with a prefix so as not to confuse and not make a mess of the links, as I always did, and it always worked well:)
We recently switched to the 2016 version. I just installed the SP2.0 updates to see if it changes anything. Strangely enough, I didn't have this kind of problem last week when I was already under this version...
I'll try the story of checking all the messages in Tools > Options
