Save SolidWorks 2015 part to SolidWorks 2014

Hello

Can a part built with SolidWorks 2015 be registered as a SolidWorks 2014 version?

Thank you.

Hello

Basically, no, otherwise Solidworks would have a harder time selling its latest versions and would make less money.

Hello

On the other hand, it may be possible that with the latest version (SP) of SW 2014, we can open a part made with SW2015.

This is possible between SW2013 and SW2014.

On the other hand the creation tree is deleted, see attached photo

I don't think it's possible, moreover I think that for the 2015 you no longer have backward compatibility with the 2014 SP5

You have to go through a standard exchange file, iges, stp and run a function recognition

For the 2015 version, I don't know, I don't have it yet.

But between 2013 and 2014, it is sure to work.

@cchandelier is right, there is a "compatibility" between SW2014 and an earlier version.

On the other hand, for SW2015, SolidWorks has removed this possibility.

A priori it should come back for SW2016

@cchandelier Yes, it's possible indeed, only in the tree, there is nothing. These are dead bodies: so recognition of functions possibly. Don't hope to recover families of parts or other configurations...

This manipulation is not possible. (seen with SolidWorks Support)
