Hi, it seems that this is not possible. We have customers here who work with the 2020 version and others with the 2021 version, we have installed the 2 versions to be able to work with them...
On the other hand I believe that the 2020 SP5 version can open in visualization only files of the 2021 version: to check

The help says this:
A model from an earlier version of SOLIDWORKS is automatically converted to the new version when it is saved. It is not possible to save as an earlier version or open a newer version in an earlier version of SOLIDWORKS, with one exception. You can open part and assembly files in read-only mode in Service Pack 5 of the previous release.
