Equation DriveWorks

Hello;

Following advice on a previous question, I was able to generate my parts in Driveworks.

However, I am stuck with an equation.

See attached image.

I need to generate my "hauteur_accouplement".

To do this, I have 5 variables that complement each other.

The equation is simple;

hauteur_accouplement= hauteur_arcade - heightaxle valve + socket on shaftvalve + hauteur_carré_male - games

Variable Information:

Hauteur_arcade is driven by another equation

heightaxle valve is a numeric variable entered in the execution

socketonshaftvalve is a numeric variable entered in the runtime

hauteur_carré_male is driven by another equation

games is a numerical value (0.5 as standard)

Could you tell me what's wrong

Thank you for your feedback

the "thickness" of the arch is missing (cf. PC, sorry for the writing..)

Hello stefbeno ,

First of all, thank you for your first answer.

However I have misplaced the rating of the game, see attached the updated document.

What makes you say there's a problem with your equation? It seems quite logical to me or else we make the same mistake.

The equation simply does not work.

I tried to write it with parentheses, quotation marks, but nothing helps.

It's a two-piece relationship in an assembly, can there be an impact?

So it's more of a problem at the Driveworks level.

I imagine you tried with simple equations.
If you freeze the 2 variables from the equation, does the problem persist?
By the way, are these equations at the level of DW?

Hello

Which version are you in and can you post the files for us to take a look at???

@stefbeno

Yes, I tried a lot of manipulation.

What do you mean by "freeze the 2 variables"?

All equations are at the level of DW

@AC Cobra 427

I'm on SW 2018.

Can I transfer the files to you privately?

"What do you mean by "freeze the 2 variables"? "
I was thinking of forcing the values to avoid a cascading effect

Hello Dupont.X,

Damn I'm under 2016...

Maybe one of my colleagues in 2018 could help you if you send him a PM via a wetransfer link...

Hello

I had seen the subject and thought it would be quickly solved but apparently it's more complicated.

To solve your problem, it's actually quite simple or even very simple. Instead of managing equations in driveworks, create them in solidworks and retrieve the values in custom properties. In driveworks, capture custom properties and use them in equations.

Driveworks allows you to do a lot of things but does not allow you to capture equations in its express version. We have to break down and find the right compromise between equations in Sw and equations in driveworks.

@ ac cobra 427  thank you for your feedback, could you send me the address of your colleagues? Please

Hello

I think I expressed myself badly, I was talking about one of my Lynkoen colleagues...

Hello

Thank you all for your answers.

I was able to handle this with a quoting equation in an assembly.

I didn't know it was possible.

Nice day.
