Buoyancy study

Hello

I have to do a buoyancy study of a barge (Attached is a photo of the barge in its middle), currently I have as a CAD software: Solidworks with a standard license. I'm currently looking for a free software that allows me to do a buoyancy study. Can you offer me some ideas.

Thank you.

Hello

A thread here on the same topic: http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/3d/calcul-de-la-hauteur-de-la-partie-immergee-du-bateau-dans-l-eau

L'ensemble est constitué de nombreuses pièces. Certaines parties sont plus légers que l'eau. D'autres sont plus lourdes. So  the buoyancy study of my set will be more complicated than on a boat. I've already seen this discussion it doesn't answer my question!!

but if you have made an assembly of these different parts with the dedicated materials for each part

you have the mass of your hull (hull)

you define your buoyancy line

what is internal to your hull and limits flotability is air

so you have your lift and your volume and your mass volume ratio no

In theory you should get there with these links

good calculation and give information it's always nice for the curious ;-)
