Transient thermal study on a part

Hello

Under solidworks thermal simulation, is it possible to do a TRANSIENT thermal study on a part?

I have a room to which I apply thermal power on one surface, convection (air temperature at 20°C) on the rest of the surfaces, an initial temperature of 293°K on all its surfaces and according to the simulation I end up with a temperature below zero! I think it comes from the initial temperature because I'm selecting surfaces and not volume. Volume that I can select only in assembly (of one piece!) and the result is much more coherent.

Thank you for your clarification....

Hi Raimanu,

You can select the volume in a room for the initial temperature:

First you have to show the volume sizes in the feature manager (the folder is hidden by default when your part has only one body)

Here's the manipulation:

Tools, Options, FeatureManager, Volume: Show

Then, when you apply the initial temperature, you must select the volume body in this file by developing your part right next to the future maager.

It doesn't seem illogical to me that your results are distorted if the initial temperature is applied only to the external faces.

Good luck

Mick
