Obviously for additive manufacturing type organic/macro-structured

Hi all

Do you know how to carry out this type of operation aimed at reducing costs and lightening a volume structure in the case  of manufacturing by adding material?

There are many photos on the internet but little explanation...

In some cases they simply use a repetitive 3D mesh to which they add boundary surfaces (img 2), but what interests me is how they adapt their mesh to the topology of the volume (img 1), without a boundary surface.

I looked at what SW 2018 offered with the new topological opti module, it doesn't seem to allow this type of "finer" operation that only works on the filling of the volume without modifying the topology of the body.

We can then imagine performing a topological opti combined with a volume opti to obtain image 1, right?

Thank you for your information!
