Export SolidWorks

Hello

I'm on SolidWorks 2015 Premium.

I want to export an assembly but I want it to have the assembly in a single piece when imported.

What format should I use or what manipulation should I do before.

Thank you.

Hello

If the goal is to have a single part, the easiest way for me is to save as a part before exporting in neutral format IGES, STEP or SAT.

You can even choose the "amount" of information that will be in the room: exterior faces, exterior components or all the parts.

See here:

Edit:

The SolidWorks help page for registering a part assembly:

Options when exporting in step:

There is an interesting option:

Volume/Surface GeometryAllows you to export geometry as volume or polygon bodies.

I tested the exterior mode, but the reimported assembly still contains a lot of detail. I'm looking for the client to retrieve the assembly only in one part (imported part), without any information in the file tree.

So after recording in parts with the external face option , you have to export in STEP for example (the 214 allows you to keep the colors in addition): the tree will only have surfaces.

Otherwise, the defeature tool fits this need perfectly:

It will be imported under what software?

EDIT: Otherwise, the method of @PL to go through a neutral format works very well too!

Hello, personally when I have to send an assembly to a client, I save it in edrawing and then in executable edrawing. at least he only has a view of the drawings without any information. Have a nice day

It will be imported back into SolidWorks.

Defeature removes functions, it doesn't suit me.

Exporting in parts doesn't work either, I'm looking for only one volume and one entity in the tree.

There is a possibility but I don't know how it works entirely, but you can make a speedpak of your set and send only it to your customer. There you have nothing in the tree of creation but you have your whole set.

You need all the bodies in one, but a tree without function, right?

So by recording the assembly in parts, but by choosing all the components, it doesn't fit?

Otherwise I didn't understand.

Hello

If the assembly is to be reimported into Solidworks, the easiest way is to create a Speedpak in the assembly, if necessary put the faces that will be used for the constraints. Just send the assembly (without parts)

In pieces, then in step, it keeps me a huge amount of faces, which is logical.

I'm going on this for the moment for lack of finding anything else but I keep looking.

So could we have more precision on what exactly is the need?

So in fact,

I have an assembly, I want to export it, and I want the person who is going to import to have only a global piece with all the assembly details.

So make a speedpak as yoan.pacquelet told you! I don't see what doesn't suit you in his method!?

And by recording in rooms only, why is it not suitable?

_le format matters?

_ton what is export for exactly?

@+ ;-)

In fact, I export in sat and reopen with another software to re-export in stp.
