Extrusion from PDF

Hello

I need to extrude a profile on solidworks (2012) from a PDF, my supplier does not have a DXF.

Is it  possible?

thank you in advance for your answers

Kind regards.

Fred.

Hello

Apart from making an image from the PDF and then inserting the image into a sketch, I don't see any other solution.

I agree with Coyote, you have to start with an image inserted in the sketch and trace over your profile.

Kind regards

Hello

If it's a veterinary PDF (real PDF and not a scan) there are websites (example http://www.pdftodxf.com/) or software (http://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Utilitaire/manipulation_de_fichier/fiches/32349.html) that exist!

thank you for your answers,

but at any chance there is no software that would allow you to transform a PDF into DXF?

Thank you.

Kind regards.

We posted almost at the same time! Try the solutions I proposed to see if your PDF is in vector!

Hello

Your provider doesn't offer you other formats?

.dwg .catdrawing ...

Hello Fred.

I use Inkscape (free in French, it exists in a portable version).

If your pdf is vector (no problemo) you save in dxf (there are two output options).

If your pdf is an image (Inkscape) manages to vectorize but it's prep work and the result won't give you any straights.

(I mainly use this software to trap text and output a dxf (usable in Catia and less facetized than the one in CatiaV5)
