Feasibility with solidworks kinematics and motion dynamics

Hello

A preparatory student at engineering schools asked me the following question: can solidworks be used for the simulation of random movements: example a billiard ball>> point of impact, friction and dynamic deformation of the table coating, rebound and trajectory of the band... I told him that SW couldn't do it, because it's more in mechanical movements related to a construction. When in doubt, I ask you the question because the subject is far beyond my skills.  Is there a simulation software for this type of problem?

Thank you for your insights

Kind regards

Thierry

Good evening

Two short videos to show that it's possible:

Thank you PL for the info, is it reliable?

Hello

It's possible, but for the deformations I have my doubts, maybe recover the dynamic loads to do a study with Solidworks Simulation.

Otherwise there is ADAMS (MSC software)

Reliability, I don't know, I haven't tested it but I saw that it was possible. Otherwise it's possible with MATLAB too:

Hello

Thank you all for your comments, I will study this this weekend, I will probably come back to you for more practical questions on the implementation

Kind regards

In this case, for more visibility on the forum, it is better to close this question and open another. Please choose one of my answers if I helped.
