If you are as frustrated as I am by not being able to use Mechanical or Advanced constraints with the " Copy with Constraints " option, come and support my vote for the SPR 390333 : "Add functionality for copying advanced , mechanical , and lock mates in 'copy with mates' ( width mate )". To do this, if you are under Solidworks maintenance, and you have an "Administrator/Customer" account On the website: https://my.solidworks.com/?lang=fr
Through the Client Portal (via the Admin portal):
Search for: 390333 Or search for the text: Add functionality for copying advanced
click on the SPR: and "Vote" for this improvement request:
Then fill in the little information requested (your version of Solidworks, then a small text justifying why you want this Improvement...)
The more votes there are, the more Solidworks will look into this function. By the way, I invite you to take a look at the other requests, some of them are probably interesting for you. (It would probably be interesting to list your requests for improvements, already existing in the form of SPRs, which interest you the most..... to ponder) Thank you for your participation.....
Could you tell us what bothers you a lot with the " Copy with constraints " option?
I use it often and it's quite convenient. By being careful to chain the sequences in the same direction as the initial constraints, it works well with limits which is that we cannot do it in the case of symmetrical parts.
This function is slow but I have no other options than that.
Yes sbadenis (thank you for your participation), that's right, I'd like to be able to copy the constraints of grooves, the locked coaxialities, and the slides (among others).
Hello Also fact, it's clear that I would appreciate being able to use the "copy with constraints" function on the "groove" constraint in particular (screw in a slotted hole for example).
