Solid Works Part Family?

Hello

currently in an internship in a company I am looking for a way under solidworks (version 2011) to allow to deploy a family of parts via Excel.  However, I ask myself the question: Can we deploy a family of parts in Excel just by filling in the typical profile?

Thank you.

Hello

I think that by unfolding one of the parts by looking at what the part family is behaving in the Excel table, we can unfold all the configurations.

that's what I did PL but the problem is that the typical profile by unfolding it has several variants but I don't think that solid works will be able to create and fill in my request for the moment but I hope soon!!!

It doesn't suit my question or the level is too high for me I'm only in a professional baccalaureate!

The GT22 link allows you to have a macro (a program) that does an export in DXF, I think it's off-topic.

question

It is a family of sheet metal parts

What are the changes

the lengths, width, number of holes and diameter of the holes etc

but as it's a family of parts at the base it's pretty much the same with a few differences

So why not go through a table and more than a single drawing

Part families in drawings

If a model uses a part family to generate multiple configurations, you can display the part family in a drawing of that model. In this way, a single drawing can represent all configurations.

You can refer to the numbers with short, descriptive letters or names instead of using their full names and values. For example, instead of D1@BaseExtrusion, you can use a label such as A or thickness as the column header in the part family and display it instead of the dimension value in the drawing view.

The following figure shows how a part family and the dimensions it controls can appear in a drawing.

Table of Contents

  • View a part family in a drawing

The part family appears in the drawing exactly as it appears in the model document. For this reason, in the part or assembly document, you must configure it so that it appears as you want it to appear in the drawing. You then insert it into the drawing.

Creating an Unfolded Sheet Metal Part Configuration

You can create a configuration in a sheet metal part that shows the part in the unfolded state.

To ensure that all functions are shown in the unfolded state, you must create the configuration after completing the entire part design process.

To create a part configuration in the unfolded state:

  1. In a sheet metal part, create a new configuration.
  2. In the FeatureManager authoring tree, do one of the following :
    • Right-click the Unfolded Status feature and select Undeletemenu_Unsuppress.gif .
    • Select Bend and all functions after it. Click Edit  > Delete > This configuration to remove all selected features.
