Part family and bill of materials: how to link the 2

In an assembly, I created several families of parts. I have a bill of materials (default configuration); I would like that when I choose a new configuration of my Exel file, I would like to display the associated BOM directly.

Currently I am forced to click on the nomenclature and change the name of the configuration.

I think that a  code must exist to put on the exel file to validate this more quickly.

I don't think that's possible.
To be clear, the BOM is displayed in a 3D (assembly) or a 2D (plan)?

@ Alain ERP........... When reading the question it says assembly drawing ;-)

Go through Drive Works  it will be easier I think

If it's in 3D, it seems to me that the nomenclature updates automatically when you change the configuration: you just have to do a CTRL Q for it to update.

 

If it's in a plan, the BOM is linked to one of the view of the drawing, and if this view changes configuration, the BOM updates, if not, you have to do a CTRL Q too.

Finally, I manually updated the bill of materials by changing the  check mark in the Bill of Materials tab
