Hi all
I would like to know if it was possible to generate (via another software) an NC1 or DSTV file from a SolidWorks part.
My subcontractor in digital joist cutting asks me for these files to insert directly into his machine.
There is no extension in save as.
Thank you
Hello;
NC1 : Numerical Control 1:
(digital control file format used to control cutting and drilling machines, especially in the steel construction sector)
DSTV : Deutscher Stahlbau-Verband:
(name of a German standard established for the exchange of data between CAD software and machine tools for steel, the product files are also colloquially known as "NC1 files")
(I don't like Acronyms...)
There are a few (paid) plug-ins for Solidworks:
or converters (probably also paying):
But it would be very unlikely that your subcontractor " in digital joist cutting" is not already equipped with this type of software... It should even be able to make do with Parasolids or STEP files...
Alas, not this one.
Otherwise thank you but yes I had found these plug-ins but paid and for the usefulness it is not interesting for us. Nevertheless, I came across Solidsteel which looks good to me for metal construction. I don't know if anyone has already tested it?
I don't know this SolidSteel (DSTV Assistant for SOLIDWORKS - The intelligent DSTV Exporter | Klietsch GmbH) but it seems that an additional module is still needed for the DSTV...
SolidSteel DSTV Module | Automating Metal Design
And then a software that is so badly referenced on the Web... doesn't really inspire confidence...
