Threading on a shaft

How do you make a thread on a shaft?

Thank you in advance.

Didier

Hello

On which drawing software?

Thomas

Hello

On solidworks it is only a representation.

Draw your shaft to the nominal diameter and then do "Insert / Anotations / Thread Representation"

As indicated on the attached screenshot...

Then you can find the predefined threads of the toolbox or create a personal annotation to make it appear in your drawing

See you

such a vast question given the number of software???

Thank you Thomas

I'm a new user of Solidworks.

More than 20 years  with Autocad...

NB: I think there is a confusion in the menu for drilling between " threading and tapping"

you want to actually create a thread or a thread representation

For representation, spinning/tapping  tools are suitable

if you want to see your real net

- a sketch via the propeller tool

- a triangular sketch for the fillet

- Removal of swept material
