Hello
How do I create a thread or thread using a function like it is done in swcaddb?
For example: Metric Profile
I choose the diameter, the starting surface, the pitch, the height and the thread is created automatically.
You should certainly start from a function and use a spreadsheet for questions and answers, but I'm new to it.
Looking forward to a little help, I wish you a good day

Hello
Here is a tutorial that allows you to create threads on Solidworks:

Hello Tomalam,
Thank you for the tutorial but I already know it and I use it often.
In fact I want this manipulation of this tutorial to adapt to all diameters and lengths without having to recreate each time sketches of functions, planes, elices and others...
Thank you all the same

Hello
A clarification concerning your request, you want to enrich the database of threads tapping, is that right?

Hi @ jeanartemis
via the toolbox you can already have all the options
for real threading and tapping performances
profiles and guide curves must be created that depend on pitch and diameter
now nothing prevents you from having in libraries
Thread profiles
Profiles for tapping
and guide curves for steps
The different diameters can be managed via the axis of revolution
Once you've done all this you can create your own function library
1 D/G thread
1 D/G thread
and via insert smart function create in car on your new parts
but it's time-consuming in memory and cumbersome

Thank you Coyote and Gt22,
Yes, it could be in the form of a library.
I like what GT22 is alluding to.
But the problem is that I don't master all this well and I get confused quickly.
I'm going to go and see what you offer me and I'll tell you what it is...

I just went to see on the different sites proposed.
Indeed in the tolbox this representation exists, you just have to make it appear.
For my particular pieces, I wanted to do the same thing, but it seems that it is beyond my abilities.
So I'm going to continue to do my threads individually for now.
Thank you

I strongly advise you to look for a tutorial on Library Functions, it will surely solve your problem!
Otherwise, here is the link to a very complete library that allows, among other things, to create threads and many kinds of machining according to current standards.

EDIT: The library is not in SW education format
Hello
Be careful , check before using them, that the libraries are not in the "SolidWorks Education" format. Do not use them with the SolidWorks versions used in the industry because otherwise you risk having a watermark when printing documents.
This watermark should not be removed in any way!
Kind regards
