Why don't I have the ability to drag from one point to another?

If you take a rectangle for example and you do a slide function with your large faces. You can then "slide" along these faces (i.e. set the small faces in motion).
Now, if you put a positioning constraint on these small faces... Your room is centered by its large faces and can no longer move
