Rental license management

Hello

I have a problem with the assignment of a leased license.

Explanation: My company is starting in the Solidworks universe, I am starting in the administration of this universe.

Yesterday we rented a second license, a Solidworks Premium.
The first one we rented is a standard Solidworks license. It has been activated on one workstation and has been in service for 2 months.
In our evaluation process of Solidworks tools, we have therefore rented a Solidworks Premium license
I would like to know how to install the rented Solidworks Premium license on the workstation where the Standard license is already installed.
To then install Solidworks Standard with the standard rented license on a second workstation.

I tried several manipulations on the first workstation but each time it reactivates the standard license, it never offers me to activate the premium license. Even after deactivating the standard license, when I ask for the reactivation, it automatically goes for the standard one and it  doesn't offer me the choice between the 2.

For information, this concerns the Solidworks 2018 software.

I made a request to the support services but I think that someone may have encountered this problem on the forum.

The problem is the serial numbers, so the simplest:
1 - on workstation n°1: deactivate (via the license transfer tool) the standard license;
2 - on workstation n°1: uninstall on the standard license;
3 - on workstation n°2: install on the standard license, activate it;
4 - On workstation n°1: install on the premium license (be careful: this is when you need to change the serial number), activate it.

Steps 3 and 4 can be carried out simultaneously if necessary (saving time).

- I assumed you have fixed licenses.
- it is possible to make it a little simpler (especially shorter in time) but it is a little more delicate.

For your information, I am talking about a 3-month rental license.

By scraping the information on the net, by reinstalling a Solidworks, I tried the following solution:

- Deactivate the standard license of my 1st workstation via the Solidworks License Manager.

- Then modify the Solidworks installation via the Windows control panel (Solidworks - edit).

- Change the serial number by taking the Premium rental license number in the "serial number" window that appears before installation.

- Finalize the modification of the software.

- And restart Solidworks to activate the license via the internet.

- The license manager must start with the new serial number and possibly a new validity date.

This solution worked for me, my first job has the right license. Tomorrow morning I install the other license on my second computer.

Thank you for your feedback and thank you to the support,

Cdt

I was talking about fixed licenses as opposed to floating licenses which have a different management mode.

I preferred to do an uninstall/reinstall, which, although requiring more time, allows you to be sure that all the modules corresponding to your version are installed

Hello Cedric

If you need a hand cost for the soliworks settings I can send you group files
