Unable to open a part in a Solidworks assembly

Hello, as the title suggests, I have an assembly and the part icons in the Solidworks featuremanager are blue cubes.

I'd like to convert them into pieces that I can edit.

This part is made up of several imported volume bodies (without construction shafts), this is the case of most models found on the net,

For the question and if I understand, it is not possible to edit the piece:

To be able to modify these dimensions, you will need either:

  • Use the Scale function for proportional dimensions.
  • Try feature recognition with FaeturWorks. 
  • Or remodel by starting from scratch or adding functions,
