Print to PDF

Hello

I use SW2012, and I would like to print all the plans of a machine in PDF, do you have a solution to not make them one by one?

thanking you in advance for your help.

Fred

Hello

Conversion to PDF is possible with BatchConverter, do you have the MyCADTools utilities?

You can choose a folder and export all the drawings in PDF.

If you have the MyCADtools suite, you can use BatchConverter.

Otherwise, macros must exist for this kind of operation.

Indeed, otherwise macros are available here:

Hello

The Axemble Batch Converter utility does this very well.

Power print with PDFcreator as your printer! Simple

Otherwise you can also do it with the SolidWorks Task Scheduler:

SW's task scheduler works great,

To use it:

Start Menu

All Programs

Solidworks

SOLIDWORKS Tools

Task Scheduler

Then, choose either:

1)

Export files, in file types, take PDF.

You can either choose the plans one by one, or the complete folder containing all the plans to be exported.

2)

Print to PDF (if you have installed a (free) Cute PDF converter)

To do this: Printing files

You choose the plans in question

In Otions, choose Cute PDF

Even better, in default printer on your PC you put PDFcreator, in the select all plans folder, right click: print!

Hello

In the myCADTools utilities you can use Powerprint, David be3's solution seems to me the simplest

Do you all have access to print from a SolidWorks file by right-clicking?

I know from David be3's opinion, it is possible to download (free) pdf creator, and use it as a printer. Starting from a folder or going to the properties of the "printer", it is possible to print all the plans, but you still have to be careful with the formats, there may be A4 in Ao format or vice versa...

But how can you print a 3D pdf, if you don't have solidworks, or a recent 3D software?

Regards.

@Lucas, you can access "Print" by right-clicking if your file extension is associated with the "SolidWorks Launcher" application. If it points to "SolidWorks 20xx" or eDrawing... It's not on offer.

If you don't point the sldxxx files to "SolidWorks Launcher" you must also have an inconvenience: when you double-click on a file from Windows Explorer, you probably have another SW that launches instead of opening it in the already open one!

@El pescador

To open a 3D pdf, it seems to me that Adobe Acrobat Reader does it since the U3D is an adobe product it seems to me. So from there, you print acrobat :-)

@Felix & XabiB, indeed it is possible to open and manipulate 3D Pdf files with the latest Acrobat reader génération.et it's quite nice to talk to partners.

But my concern is to create some with a "bit old-fashioned" 3D software, namely SolidEdge v18. At the moment I'm on vacation, but next week, I'm testing Crossmanager. Thanks

Hello Fred,

I use CSW from "C..... E".

There are very practical macros for printing that selects (once configured) the printer and the settings according to the format of your drawing automatically.

Thanks to this, you can print a drawing folder in a few clicks and it will print them on the different printers available.

For PDF, there is a function that also allows you to export a SW file folder in the desired formats depending on the type of file (part, assembly or drawing).

Very practical also once configured.

Have a nice day.

@Felix & XabiB, I launched an open-ended question on 3D PDF.

Thank you
