Hello, when I want to insert a table nothing happens... No table appears
Hello;
That's a bit succinct as a description...
- What type of table?
- Are your reference links up to date (file location in Solidworks System options).
- Do your table models still exist?
- Are your views updated (mechanically welded?).
- Which version of Solidworks (if you work with Solidworks)
- Since when does it no longer work...
In short, we need to tell us more...
Hello and thank you for dwelling on my problem. It's been some time since on my workstation, when de==the "insertion-tables-family of parts" command, nothing happens while before an excel table appeared, it works on the other 2 workstations of the company. I don't understand why, I don't feel like I did anything. The version concerned is the 2020
@Maclane it's a family of parts if I understood the title correctly, no mechanically welded table!
Which version of SW and MS office do you have?
If 365 not compatible with SW and an unwanted update can cause this problem.
The link for compatibilities:
https://www.solidworks.com/fr/support/system-requirements
Solidworks 2020 and MS 365, which worked before and still works on the other workstations
That's what I feared, in theory 365 is not compatible. Often it works well, but an update of 365 can cause a malfunction all of a sudden.
Ideally, you should install a compatible version.
I also have the 2020 with Excel 2016 and no worries for the 2019 I don't remember if it was compatible.
The problem is that now you have almost no choice but to take the 365,MS instead of that and the old versions of Office will soon no longer be compatible with many other things. And in my case I have no choice but to use the 365
They are good to push towards 365, the other versions remain marketed.
Our IT department tried to push us towards this version in view of the problems they encountered, they quickly backtracked.
For the problems you will find several posts on the subject indeed, but this only confirms my words, a new 365 update can break everything overnight so version to be avoided in the context of working with SW for common use.
there is this SPR ticket 1176993 at Visiativ
Ok thank you... I'll see what I can do but it doesn't suit me at all, have a good day
Certainly, but for having called Visiativ on the subject, the answer given by phone was, I strongly advise you to install a compatible version.
For information on some site you find official OEM licenses of version 2016, 2019... very attractive and perfectly functional. For 1-2 euros I installed these perfectly functional dematerialized versions.
After that, it's up to you to choose the solution you like best.
Hello
For my part, we were already under Office 365 with the 2020 SP5. Never had any problems (but we change SW version every year so we suffer less from the risk of lag between SW and Office) except for the operation of VBA but it was related to Office which releases add-ons when it installs after SW.
We stabilized this and since then no particular problem. We are now on SW2022 SP5 with version 2208 of Office 365 without any particular problems working with Excel.
If you are under a SW maintenance contract, it is better to migrate to a higher version in my opinion.
