Install an older version for jobs for a specific customer

Hello
I want to install the 2017 version while I am using the 2021 version, the download does not start, does anyone have a solution?
Thank you in advance.

Hello

Attached is the Solidworks Help response:

So you need to uninstall your current version and install the old one. So, it seems to me that your desire to have both versions in parallel on your post is impossible.
The easiest way, I think, is to dedicate a post to Solidworks 2017 for when you need it... while knowing that you won't be able to open a newer Sldw file under penalty of not being able to use them with 2017

Hello
I don't know how to solve the installation problem, but it is possible to have several versions of SW on the same computer. I have the 2019 version that we are working on and the 2021 version that I used to open files of subcontractors.
On the other hand, you must be careful not to save documents opened with the most recent version to be able to open them again with the old version.

Combining several versions is possible.
This is what I do every time I change versions to test the new one before applying it.
On the other hand, you have to be very careful because the risk of transforming files from a lower version to a future version is very high.
If you can't download the 2017 version, maybe you only have this year's license? How long have you had solidworks?
Otherwise maybe ask your dealer for a download link.

I don't think you can load a version as old as 2017 on the Dassault website (you can only find the last 3 versions).
You have to find someone who can pass you the files (13GB so not easy to share).

Hi STEF

You could also advise as you do, how to make this version waterproof compared to the others which avoids uninstalling the current version.

Also be careful with the Windows version with the 2017 it seems to me No!

Hi @elixir_41 ,
Personally I'm current on the 2016 version, I'll see if I can find you the ISO of the 2017 version
in my archives, because I had kept all the installation DVDs when I went to mycadDay.
I'll tell you again by tomorrow, because I don't have access to my pc since work
And if I find it I'll try to find a way to send you the ISO file for the installation
Ha for your information, by the way, the 2016 version I manage to run it on windows 11, I had windows 10 originally, there was the automatic migration to version 11 and solidworks 2016 is still running. As I don't know which windows you have

Hello
Thank you all for your answers.
Let me clarify: I am on windows 11, I have just acquired the Solidworks license, so I installed the 2021 which is the most used by my customers.
The reseller told me that for a specific customer I could install the 2017 version in parallel.
I downloaded the ISO, but when I launch the installation, it spins, then it tells me that the installation failed.
I was given 2 leads:
1- change the installation directory to install it in another than Solidworks Corp (example create a SW2017 folder under C:)
2- install 2017 before 2021, i.e. uninstall 2021, then install 2017 and reinstall 2021 after.
What do you think?

Yes, in general, the installation is done more in the other direction, 2017 and then 2021, it's possible that the problem comes from there.
For my part, in this sense, I never had any installation problems.

It's actually better to install the versions in chronological order.
In addition, with such a discrepancy in version, there are fights at the level of the versions of vba.
