Inventor - change parts on a drawing

Hello everyone,

I'm doing updates on one of our products, I've done a new definition of a complex casting part.
To do this, I opened the part to be improved, I 'saved as' under another name, I made changes, validated my modifications.
Now here we are, we change supplier to make our part and suddenly I start from a drawing index of revision 0.
When I take the drawing of the original part, I can't tell him to take the other part instead. I wouldn't want to have to redo the whole drawing because it's long.

I can't figure out how to do it.

Thank you for your help

Hello

You have to go to the menu "Manage > Edit > Replace the references of the template"

In English: "Manage>Modify>Replace Model Reference "

Hello

So when I had this kind of problem,

I was "tinkering" with this:

- I was preventing Inventor from resolving the base document, I simply changed the name of the part (Example if I had a plan "chassis.idw" which related to the part "chassis.ipt", I changed the name of the part file to "chassis.1.ipt", so Inventor when opening the idw could not find the reference part and opened a "Resolve links" window, Then I clicked on my new piece and that was it! )

Well if you need more explanations, don't hesitate, I'm indeed a bit messy.

Well I validate the .PL solution that I didn't know about and which is much simpler
