If it's a part, I've already had this kind of bug.
I get out of it by going up the line in the construction tree, to find the "blocked function" and rebuild.
In principle, it works.

It's always the same thing: No thumbnail is displayed and it's not easy to find a piece by name alone without having the thumbnail.
In the "Open" tab, next to the name, the ordinary icon is displayed instead of the thumbnail.
All the solutions proposed so far have failed. It's desperate.
I don't know if it's a Window7 or Soliwoks problem.

1 And in the windows explorer, by displaying large icons, you can directly load solidworks and your part. without going through "open file".
2 If your part is in an assembly, by opening it in the list of parts on the left.
But in both cases, you still have a problem displaying your part, since the explorer displays the last saved file. Even when you open it, not sure if it will be displayed in solidworks, on the other hand you must have the construction tree, if it is also empty = you have lost your part.
