Solidworks View Label

Hi all.

Here I have a problem with the view label in the drawings of Solidworks.

I need for a client to write down the names of views in English with a particular font.

So I changed the names of the views (SECTION instead of SECTION, SCALE instead of SCALE,...) in Option/Document Property/View with font sizes that are fine.

Everything works fine with the view names but for the scale, it displays CUSTOM instead of SCALE, does anyone know where the error comes from?

Thank you in advance.

Have a nice day.

Hello, this looks like a bug.

A restart of the workstation doesn't help?

Is it sure that the texts have come in well?

By changing SCALE (replacing SCALE) with another text, is it the same problem?

Thank you for this quick response.

After restarting, nothing helps.

If I change the text, it's the same thing.

The worst thing is that SCALE appears correctly in the sections but it's in the detail views that it doesn't work. I'm trying to see if there are differences in the options between these two types of views but apparently not.

Thank you again.

From memory, it sets "Custom" when the view is not in a standard scale

For example, if you set your view to 1:5 scale, does the Custom stay?

Good idea but whatever the scale (leaf scale, parent scale, or a standard scale), it doesn't change anything.

By changing the options here:

http://help.solidworks.com/2014/french/SolidWorks/sldworks/HIDD_Options_orthographic_label.htm

Still the same problem?

Or by changing the SolidWorks language to English in the menus?

Try to do a double installation on your workstation

1 in English

1 in English

you make your pieces in the version that suits you well

you save and then open in the English version for the drawing

@+ ;-))

@gt22 I find that it's DIY and a source of boredom a double version in 2 languages on the same post, because when you already have several versions in french different year it's not always great in terms of layout (the MeP 2013 opens with all the other 2014 2015 but not in the other direction) and toolbox.

On the other hand, maybe swap the language of the current software just by restarting it?

So I didn't have any problems because the plans I received from the United States contained custom. So as a good French I said to myself they are right the Americans....

To change the menus to English as I proposed in my previous message, it's very simple:

Tools > >General system option > check the box << menu in English>>.
You have a second option which is to use the names of functions and files in English.

Hello

Changing the language of the software is a solution but it's a shame not to be able to use the features that a software offers.

So, I got a dressing standard that I loaded and then I modified it to get what I wanted and now it works.

I see two solutions, either it's a bug in the software (it's a big drawing with a lot of views and a room that approaches 20 meters), or it's a checked option that prevented the proper operation.

If it is the second solution, it remains to be seen which option created the conflict.

In any case, thank you for your help.

Have a good weekend everyone.

There is a bug reported to SolidWorks that looks like this:

Solution Id:
S-03287
 Question:
After entering text in the Section view label, it reverts to the [text in the] default label. Is there a workaround?

 Answer:
Click on the Section view label and check the option 'Manual view label' in the Note Property Manager. Enter text manually by double-clicking on the label. The new display of Section view label text will be retained.
