Hello We start with Solidworks in our design office. We are equipped with 5 stations and 2 laptops. On the 2 laptops, on 3 function calls, the opening time of the settings window is very long (about 50 seconds). The functions are:
Create a drawing from a part
In geometry, creating a new plane
Opening the custom property input mask
LENOVO Thinkpad P16v GEN1 Laptop 13th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-13800H 2.50 GHz 32.0 GB NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada video card
For a laptop you should see the Windows power options settings. If the PC is in energy-saving mode, the CPU frequency caps overall at its lowest frequency without ever reaching the max. You have to put these options in optimal performance and force the use of the processor to 100% permanently. On our Dell workstations we had this problem with Windows 11, the processor was generally underexploited generating lower performance.
Another way to reset (temporarily) the SW factory profile. If these 3 functions become much faster with the factory profile, it is your profile that is not suitable for the laptop. (Fixed station profile copied to laptop or import SW profile of lower version = Very likely problem) If it doesn't change anything, it's because it's not linked to the profile. To temporarily reset a profile, close Solidworks, open Solidworks RX and click on the link: Test all 3 functions to see the difference. When the Solidworks closes, the initial profile installed by you will be put back in place.
Hello, and welcome I lean towards @Cyril_f The energy-saving mode is indeed a plague, a real bottleneck. You must switch to High or Optimal Performance mode.
